WHAT WE DO
Fire Suppression
Fire suppression is a collective term for any engineering group of units that are designed to put out a fire. This can be achieved by applying an extinguishing substance such as water, foam or chemical compounds.
What are the differences between fire protection, prevention and suppression?
The main differences between fire protection, prevention and suppression:
- Fire prevention systems aim to minimize potential fire hazards.
- Fire protection reduces damage and helps to safely evacuate a building.
- Fire suppression systems are intended to extinguish the flames.
Rescue & Entrapment
Entrapment - the victim is physically "pinned" in the vehicle or structure due to the structural integrity of the passenger or person in a compartment being compromised (i.e. pinned by dash, steering wheel, roof, door, etc.)
We are committed to providing efficient, effective, and professional service to all residents and to those who work in and visit the Fitzpatrick Community.
Fire Safety Training
The Fitzpatrick Volunteer Fire Department routinely trains the department and community. The fundamental fire safety principles for preventing fire related events and managing their impact are: Prevention, Detection and Communication, Occupant Protection, Containment and Extinguishment.
